Student-Athlete Advisory Committee

The Student-Athlete Advisory Committee is an organization that provides student-athletes a voice in addressing issues of student-athletes welfare at Hawkeye Community College.

Members must:

  • Be a RedTail student-athlete
  • Maintain a 3.0 cumulative GPA
  • Be a positive leader in their sport
  • Be nominated by their coach

2022 – 2023 Student-Athlete Advisory Committee

President: Carlie Hoppe

Carlie Hoppe of Dysart, Iowa is a sophomore on the RedTail track and field team at Hawkeye Community College. Hoppe is majoring in Nursing in hopes of becoming an ER Nurse Manager. As president, Hoppe will be an official representative of the students of Hawkeye Community College, ensure all carried motions are executed, committees perform their duties, and executive board business is in order.

Vice President: Luke Galeazzi

Luke Galeazzi of Knoxville, Iowa is a freshman on the RedTail golf team at Hawkeye Community College. Galeazzi is studying Business with a goal of becoming a business owner one day. As vice president, Galeazzi will be an official representative of the students of Hawkeye Community College, serve as a liaison among the students, administration, and faculty, and serve as a coordinator of all Student-Athlete Advisory Committee committees.

Secretary: Allie Driscol

Allie Driscol of La Porte City, Iowa is freshman on the RedTail volleyball team at Hawkeye Community College. Driscol is majoring in Education with a goal of becoming a third grade teacher. As secretary, Driscol will be responsible for all letters and correspondences to and from anyone outside of the organization, assume presidential duties in the absence of the president and vice president, and ensure and maintain a proper record system for use of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee as well as for public inspection.

Treasurer: Tom Preece

Tom Preece of Exeter, England is a freshman on the RedTail soccer team at Hawkeye Community College. Preece is studying Liberal Arts and his dream job is becoming a professional soccer player. As treasurer, Preece will be responsible and accountable for the recording and disbursement of Student Leadership Council funds, serve as a liaison between the Student Leadership Council and the College Business Office, and maintain files of all organizations’ activities and financial expenditures.
